What RPM to shift 06 5MT at?

Where are the fast accellerators shifting at with the new 5 speed?

7k? 7.2k? 6.5k? I read about shifting at 7200 with the old transmission, but what about now that there's new gear ratios?

Thanks

It all depends on you, your mods, your torque curve, your octane, your elevation, how fast you shift, etc etc. There's no single answer. I have an MR with the same basic gearing, and I shift at 7100-7200 when drag racing at sea level on stock cams, but closer to 6500 up here at 6000'. This is only when drag racing...for street driving, who cares.

+1 for 7k

The newer ratios arent a huuuuge factor. Especially stock. The improved midrange and top end are more of a factor.

From: City O Sin, MA...the not so sinish part though...
The new gear ratios are, I believe, just to get better power from the mid range. With the bigger turbos and mivec, the powerband changes a little and the new ratios are to take advantage of it. I think it should have minimal difference up top with the 06s. Therefore, around 7 and some change like most others will. It'd help to get your car on a dyno to see what your powerband looks like. That can help you determine when to shift.
