Yes they have one that clamps onto the harness bar. Check out www.chasecam.com or email Randy at info@chasecam.com if you can't find what you need on the site.

I must say the chase cam options are very very stable. Hardly any movement at all. Very nice and rock solid when tightened down.

I actually don't bang the gears that hard. I think the shifts are pretty smooth. I don't believe this damages the t-case, because it's like one long, smooth acceleration to the end. There is no banging or jerking when I shift. Powershifting usually damages synchros, but my tranny seems to like it.

Here's the newest one:

Jesus... how do you shift so fast?

Anyway, I am looking to do something similar here... just got a nice, dedicated digital video camera (rather than using my old 'all-in-one' and getting barley decent vids) and looking to mount it.

Ultimate CC, I am curious to see how well those suction cup mounts work; I'd just be afraid the camera would fall in the middle of tracking or AutoX and break/ get in the way of driving. Do you have any vids you could link?

Mounting a camera in my Eclipse was easy as pie. Because the headrest is adjustable and comes off, I just made something that sits in-between the seat and head-rest. Basically, two pieces of wood that are perpendicular, one of which has two holes which the headrest fits into, then pinches the unit and holds it still. This is the best shot I have... and it works really well, but obviously the seats are a little different in the Evo. Anyone try rigging something up that clamps/ wraps around to the two holes in the Evo's passenger seat to hold a camera?

Regarding the tethering of cameras when attached to the outside of your car do this equation in your head.

600 Dollar Loss of camera vs. XXX maybe even XXXX Loss of Dollars of repair work from a 4 pound camera swinging around and hitting your car at 1.2G's+/150 mph.... this didnt happen to me but a friend tracking an M5, he purchased a budget mount and tethered it to his inner door handle, the camera swung from the door, hit the front headlight then on the back swing and put a baseball size dent in the rear door, not good....

I HIGHLY doubt NASA would let someone out on a road course with one of those on the outside of the car
