Add alky w/ no tune?

I'm planning to add alky but wonder if it's a good idea w/ no additional tune.

I've tried to stir up interest to bring Al here to the Seattle area but I can't get any traction. I guess I understand since almost no one lives here.

In any case, I'm sure that a tune would be optimal but since I'm having no luck in that department, should I wait for the alky? It would seem that I'd still see some solid benefit just by being able to up the boost.

Your thoughts?

I saw cajun power's vid last night...while he was tuning with alky...he literally shot four foot flames out his exhaust...I wouldn't recommend running alky without a tune...and if you feel you must run alky...don't run the car extremely hard until you get a tune

Absolutely not. It burns as a fuel in the cylinders, so you will run extremely rich. It's not like race gas where you can just turn up the boost and go faster even without an optimal retune. If you install it, only use distilled water, because you'll get some additional knock resistance that will allow a little more boost from the cooling effect, but it won't burn as a fuel. Then, when you can get custom tuned again, toss in the 100% denatured alky or methanol.

My AFR went off the graph when we added the Meth. Hence the flames. DO NOT run meth without a tune.

Want a laugh...
