If he places his 02 sensor in the catback, he'll get a check engine light. He must place it in the test pipe if he chooses ultimate racing so that he doesn't get the CEL, and block off the 02 in the catback.

Tell you what you do. Go to the Mitsu place and tell them you want the money for your warranty back. Thell do it. They will give you a pro rated amount. Warrantys are jokes anyway they dont cover much and what they do cover they always try and get out of. Then take that cash and purchase a warranty through your bank. Your bank warranty will allow you to go to any offical car shop to fix your car. So you can have a deleted cat and your motor blows you dont need to worry about Mitsu voiding your warranty on your motor for a cat. Trust me its worth it. Its what I did.

The mechanical fix is also not a sure fix.I had to mix the different length adaptors to get the right length to keep the CEL from coming on.The EVO sure is a evolving experiment.

I can swap my cat out with a test pipe in about 20 minutes when it's cold. little longer if you have to let the exhaust cool down.
