Cat delete/test pipe legality?

So, here in corvallis there's no emissions requirements....farm country. Does this mean it's legal to run cat-less? I heard cops can't give emissions related tickets because they're not certified emissions techs...so am I safe to run cat-less?

Removing a cat is a federal offense. It's not legal in any state, emission testing or not.

If a cop finds out you are not running a cat, you will get a fine. I know in florida you can even though we don't have emissions laws in place.

just tell cops that you have a cat! They have to prove that you don't have a cat on the spot. That is hard to do unless they have EPA officer with jack stands and tools right next to them.

That's a big if... The cat is hard to check, and harder to prove. You will get a fine if they do prove it, regardless if your area has smog testing, but most cops don't like crawling under cars on the side of the road.

Dude, run catless. You have nothing to loose. The cops don't care, just drive normal when they are around, which when you really think about, it is not really that often. If your car passes emissions or inspection thats all they care about, esp. in the sticks where you are.
