Evo 8 vs 9 recaro seats

Any difference? I like my 8's recaro with the blue ultra-grippy clothes in the
center. How about 9's recaro? From all the picture I found the center seems
to be some kinda suede material?? I doubt it's grippy like the 8's? Any other
difference?

Thanks,

I don't have much time with the 8 seats but my 9 grips the heck outta me.

ima BIG fan of alcantara ...BUT i <3 my 8 seats. the sport fabric is nice, and since i'm an active college kid, my seats take quite the beating ! so I would probably just shed tears from tares my alcantaras would accumulate.

I was so impressed with the IX alcantara seats, that it made the SSL an afterthought.

The seats look so good, and are so comfortable, that they should almost be the "premium seat"

I'm not sure what the "slip factor" is in the leather, but I can't imagine that they hold you in the seat better than these do.

The only issue will be the wear factor....and time will tell with that.

The 9 seats do not have as stiff of side bolsters (both top and bottom) as the 8 seats. Also the side bolsters were a tad more "huggy" than the 9. I'm 6', 175lb, avg build. They both won't let you slide about the same. I like my old old 8 seats just a bit more, I could drive 10 hours straight and I'd feel great. 8 hours in the 9 seats yield a little more stiffness. The "leather" that comes on the 9 seats is cheesy, it's synthetic, I'd prefer none of that.

Any person that had enough time sitting in both cars would tell you rapidly that the Evo 9 recaro cushing is significantly softer than the Evo 8.

The Evo 8 seat is more compact and harder, it is also harder on the sides were the Evo 9 seat bends too much when getting in and out of the car.

You have to have a friend with a Evo8 and a friend with a Evo 9 and poke their seat a few times and sit on their cars few times and you will see what I mean.

I personally stay with the Evo 8 seats nor for the looks but for the stifness.

Thats what I'm afraid of.... Seems like 9 is already gettnig softer than the 8.
Can't imagine the 10.

I'm already sliding a bit in my 8 looks like my @ss will be on the door panel with
the 9.

Also 9 RS is 30 lbs heavier than 8 RS... besides the heavier (bigger) turbo, now
I know where the weight came from...
(or maybe the new front bumper)

Looks doesnt really matter... I didnt buy an Evo for looks...

The suede on the Evo 9 seat are fragile and delicate. This is my second review on this topic, not only I think and I confirm the Evo 8 seats are stiffer but I firmly believe the seats are more durable due to the stronger fabric. This is cosmethics aside.

Summarizing, it is clear to me that the Evo 9 seats have the lead on looks but lack on stiffness, yes it is not me making things up, please have a seat on a Evo 9 seat and you will see they are softer and spongier.

my .2c

the IX seats are supposed to provide improvement not down grade.
I sat on both 8 and 9 seats, I love the 9 a bit more. But then again they are basically the same seat with different material, we have our on oppinion to express here.
