That looks like the old one. If I get a new one in the shop soon, I'll snap some pics.

Ok, because lately I have be hearing a ticking that I thought was an exhaust leak but I haven't had time to find out where its coming from. I hope it isn't cracked. Do you know if they will exchange it even if it isn't cracked?

Heres a link to the thread I started when I got mine. The second pic shows the reliefs in the part that meet the head.

I called the vendor today and he was helpful but he does not have much to do with the issue. He gave me the number for AMS /DCsports and I called them.

DCSports wants me to send them a fax with the description of the fail and the bill of purchase for this header.

I will send them the fax but in reality it is a hassle for me and I don't have time for games. I hope for the best and that means fast service and quality product. Put yourself on my shoes:

I will have to pay for the shipping
I will have to pay for labor of install and removal again
I am wasting my time on faxing papers, shipping header
Having to deal with all this hassle

I hope this does not happen to you .

I've been running a DNP for about a year now with not one problem. It has bracing under each runner and 2 braces that run from the turbo flange to the head flange.

Carlos,

Sorry to hear about your troubles. You've been very unlucky with performance parts lately. I always told you that headers are a waste of money...same thing goes to that monster IC you just sold...wise move, btw.
Bottom line is track times don't lie: your car was slightly slower with the Nisei IC + DC headers...

I'd like to see pics as well. I have a new in box DC header about to get tapped for an EGT gauge and sent to swain tech. Please show us the new one so we can eliminate risk. Thanks!

Talking

Sorry for the crude picture, but I outlined the difference:

PS. Also, I would not freak out, out of dozens of manifolds we've installed at the shop, only 1 had this problem, and 1 that we heard about from another shop. The problem exhibited itself through a loud ticking noise - sounded 100% like a lifter, it tooks us a while to figure out that there was a hairline crack on the back of the manifold facing the head - where you could not really see it.

AMSTUNING,

Thnaks for your feedback, yes indeed they sound like a lifter issue when they crack.

Ok, helping AMSTuning out....56K suicide, YO!

I see what he is saying, I have a new DC manifold....Here are 3 pics that help describe what he drew...

Now, here is my concerns with the manifold:

1) Look at these pics, the gaps are self explainatory. They exist on every one of the runner tubes.

2) The one of #4 cylinder is the worst (2nd pic below) The pipe seems set in place kinda crooked and at an angle.

3) The others are placed flush. It almost looks like the manifold wasnt completed and shipped off.

4) The same goes for inside the collector. Gaps all around.

This worries me, gang! Is this normal? Does anyone have pics of the shearer, DNP and Megan manifold? I am sure the full-race one is all that and a bag of chips!
