Kid says his mustang>my evo
Kid says his mustang>my evo
Ok so there is this kid that drives a stock mach 1. he talks a lot of smack and is obsessed with his car. he claims he had raced and beaten a ferarri (my guess is some old one), a 03 cobra??? and a 05 evo??? how is this possible?
funny that you make this thread. last summer (the first summer i had my evo out racing on a closed street of course!) i raced countless mach 1's. some nights i had raced in upwards of 10or so all ranging in stock form to mildly modded. my conclusion is that they are in no way, shape or form able to touch the evo unless your a horrible driver or the mach1 driver has some nice hp mods. as for him beating a ferrari i think he ment a fiat! there is also no way he is taking a 03-04 cobra in his stock form.
Ok guys let me break it down for you. A mustang I dont care which one you have cant hang with a evo in a drag. Even on topend I have spanked some new 05 gt mustangs and I wasnt even trying really. I just left it in 5th gear from 75 and still beat them.
Ok now just beat the kid take his money and use it for mods on the evo and keep spanking his slow car.

Now evos are certainly alot faster than that. Even the 8s are.
Hell warrtalon with very minimal mods put down a 12flat in a 05 evo.
And most stock evo 8 are around mid to high 12's. And most stock evo 9 are around low to mid 12's. At least thats what I have been gathering.
And most likely they wont even race a full quarter mile length so thats even more bad news for the mach1.

Stock Evo 8's are not consistently mid to high 12's. Occasionally someone breaks into the 12's, and it seems to be more common on the 9's. None-the-less, stock for stock, Mach's and Evo's are pretty evenly matched in drag racing.
I ran one on a closed course shortly after getting the IX. It wasn't a fair match to say the least. So, I'm at the dealer two days ago and they start asking me if I was racing the car. Turns out there was a guy trying to trade in his red Mach 1 for an Evo because he got beat by an EB IX with temp tags.
My question: Why do you care what this kid says? Look at any reliable road test data...very few non-exotic cars are quicker up to, say, around 100 or so. "Street racing" proves nothing...who's driving? what gear are you in? who stomped the gas a fraction before the other guy? How many other variables are there? Grow up and decide NOT to be a "kid" like this kid.

First one is about the blown one second link is the drag stats and they are towards the bottom.
Just like spartikus said theres no problem beating this car.
O and btw, I was referring more to the 05 evo 8. The 05 because of the 3 lsd's and acd and of course the bigger housing with a good driver makes this car a mid-low 12sec car. Again warrtalon was running like 12.23 with TBE AND FLASH on pump gas. I really dont know what else to tell ya. And me with a evo 9 have been putting down very low 8's in the 1/8 mile with just a tbe on pump gas and a full tank and wit no weight reduction at all. So if I did some weight reduction and didnt have full tank definitely 8flat or 7.9 can be attained. Which then you would be looking at a 11 sec car with just the tbe in the quarter.
