Keep the Evo or get Porsche GT3?

The evo is a great car but sorry the Porsche still has it all hands down... and you don't seem to be concerned that you'd lose the 4dr sedan part of owning an evo.
Getting a world-class race car and making your wife happy at the same time? need I say more?
I havent read the whole thread.....
However, I will jump in and offer my opinion.
The Evo is a rare breed of car that seemingly has no, or very little fault. Its a car that can be tuned to be an evil vehicle....quite a bit faster and more aggressive than many cars on the road.
On the other hand, most Evo owners fall into a specific bracket when it comes to income and what not. Most of us are exploiting our super car wet-dreams with Evo's because it WILL do that and more, and do it for an awfully nice price in the long run.
Then, there is the Porsche GT3. A car of cars....performance, understated style and engineering which is unparalleled. Beauty, brains, brawn and downright nastiness, all into a package that is expensive...but in all seriousness, is worth every penny.

With the money you must have divorce the wife, drive whatever you want and get a new young GF to ride with you.
I see a yellow GT3 in my area all the time and it never makes me want to trade my MR for it. (not that I could...)

Going from a front engine 4wd car to a rear engine 2wd with no electronic safety net is not a bright idea. Any GT model really isn’t much of a street car and definitely isn’t meant for rookie Porsche drivers. I learned fiction is a lot better than reality when I did the Ranger thing back when I was in the army and it sounds like you’re going to learn that with a $100,000 car.

I'm a 997S owner and I've kicked around going back in the other direction. I owned an Evo 8 in the past and loved it. The 997 GT3 no doubt is a superior car and unlike the Evo will always feel like a true sports car along with all inspired confidence that comes with that. You'll also benefit from a nicer transmission, slightly better road and steering feel, and obviously better build quality. You'll also find that you won't be harassed by the same element that loves the Evo.
That said, for the costs associated with tracking a GT3 from tires (Wait until you price a replacement set of 19" Pilot Sport Cups) to oil (8.5 quarts of 0W40) to brake pads, you'll find that the Evo is substantially cheaper to drive and track. That doesn't include any unschedule maintenance arising from mishaps or mechanical failures.
Good luck with your decision.
