The purpose of the RS in Japan and most markets is to provide an inexpensive base vehicle that can be easily modifed for privateer rally and road racing use. They expect you to toss the steel stock wheels, stock base lancer seats, interior trim, etc. This is why it doesnt have a stereo, AC (Japan and Euro markets) power door locks, ABS, and other equipment unessisary for racing use. Only in the US and UK markets is the RS treated as simply a cheaper road going model.

Yup those look correct. In the Philippines many people would put a bodykit on a lancer and make it look like an evo 5. Sometimes it is really hard to tell if it is real. Though if I were to see and Evo 5 'look a like' with RS steel rims, then you know that is the real deal.

And for all those people who think the wing is useless for purists, look at the RS, it has a wing, always has. It does not have brembos, nor recaros, but the wing is still there.

But could you? Mitsubishi tell's us that the reason we don't have AYC is because of fitment issues with the bigger US spec gas tank. So actually you couldn't... unless maybe you put in a fuel cell.

There is some misinformation on this thread. IX GSR's do in fact come with body colored Vortex Generators. The IX GT is the closest model to our standard IX, and does in fact have ACD, but no AYC.

In a Best Motoring test the testers liked the way the IX GT with no AYC handled the best. They said it handled more naturally, and had less computer interference (AYC) than the IX GSR.

I have not yet seen any vendor state JDM EvoIX MR.. all I have seen stated JDM MR Heads and Tails...

How is it lies when they ALL come with part #s you can easily look up..

The JDM MR Heads and Tails come from the Evo VIII MR... NOT IX..

get your facts straight before making bogus claims about vendors trying to rip of "noobs"

Or Maybe you have it confused when other vendors state JDM IX housings but you failed to read the rest of the post and they were actually talking about the "Black Chrome" Housings

The FQ400 wouldn't cost nearly as much if it were sold in the US. Cars always cost insane prices in the UK when they have a common US counterpart due to taxes, dutys, etc.

Best Motoring stated that the Gt is more of a watered down version in order to appeal to regular commuters....not for rally companies, there isn't a big enough market to warrant spending that money.

The vortex generator isn't necessarily a "gimmick" ...the average driver will not notice the difference but there have been test showing that it does actually stabilize the air over the rear spoiler.

PS.....Recaro can't be spelled in japanese because it has no meaning. Japanese is written in characters so there are no "letters"

??????

Japanese people use english much more often than you would expect. They are physically capable of printing english.

Also, Japanese has 3 alphabets. Kanji (Chinese characters), hiragana (about 45 letters, often used for words that don't have chinese characters, grammatical linkages, etc.) and katakana (words that do not have roots in Japanese or Chinese, so they are spelled out in this alphabet, for example "biiru" means "beer", or "banana" would mean... yes, you guessed it.... banana)

Recaro can easily be spelled in Japanese (Katakana) using 3 letters... "re ka ro".

Class dismissed.
