Uhhhhh...it means Recaro. It would just be spelled out phonetically in Japanese, but would have the same meaning.

1. Im pretty aware....wait...im VERY aware how much english is used in Japan, I stayed there. (In Omiya) AND had japanese roomates for 3yrs (not Japanese-American either)... . And yes "beer" is spelled "biiru" AND pronounced like "beedur" and "banana" would sound confusing to the average american. And i know that chop sticks are "hashi"
So get off your fu cking high horse

Show me where I said they couldn't "physically" write in english.

My guess is that Recaro seats are manufactured in europe (germany?) and theyre not going to re-tool to stitch in japanese characters

Have fun at Kyoto University

Ahh ok...I was just wondering. I took Japanese for like a months then dropped it cuz I was too lazy to go to school...hahaha. Most of the things I was taught was that Japanese only spelled stuff out that actually meant something (well the stuff we were learning seemed that way)...but I didn't pay attention much anyway...I didn't Learn SH*T!

Youre partially correct....as mr. kyoto university stated, there are ways to phenetically say things. But phrases and sentences are not assembled this way, characters (which do have individual meanings) are assembled in order to come up with a general idea. this makes the language difficult since americans translate literally, therefore some things can be mis-interpreted.

you aren't supposed to "feel" those wheels, you are just supposed to use them to roll the car into your race shop to...nevermind if you don't get it by now...

From a branding perspective, Mitsubishi cannot change the Recaro brand's lettering into Japanese. Recaro has the rights to their brand so it must be spelled in their corporate typeface. Just the same way that Brembo is spelled out in their corporate letters.

Btw, Recaro is a German company that was founded in 1906 in Stuttgart.

If you stayed in Japan for three years and think "beer" is pronounced "beedur", I don't even know what to say....

Anyway, carry on.

Woah!

Did you guys notice this? http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.jp/e...ity/index.html

Go there and scroll down. They get a more high-tech key fob. The blade is connected to the transmitter.

But it is interesting how much English they use. Our "Lancer Evolution" badge is the same as the JDM one. Oh the irony that it is the UK badge a lot of people want, instead of the stock "JDM-tyte" badge that we already get for free. But it isn't spelled out in Kanji on the home market cars. And that goes for all the brands. Civic, Fairlady, Aristo all that is in english lettering. Th Honda "H" logo looks like the Arabic alphabet for "H" instead of something else. Seems like it is for cars mostly, or does it transfer to a lot of products?

I wonder if we can order replacements of this key. That looks so much better than ours plus has the remote on it...

It looked like the Evo 9 had Navigation in one of the Best Motoring videos! I believe it was the Evo 9 GT that Gansan was driving. It's amazing all of the little plus's the Japanese spec cars get. (AYC, Nav, Key Fobs, Folding mirrors, Rear diffuser bumper) But hey, at least now we get the EVO!
