I use the touchless everytime i need a quick wash. Iwouldn't worry about water on the manifold....even if its a scary sight.

Any chance of water getting in the intake with the under body flush in a touchless wash? The winters are cold and salty here. Its good to get the salt off but there is not a lot of opportunity to wash it the warmth in the winter by hand.

I'd stay away from them. A guy on SVTPerfromance took his Roush through a touch-less car wash only to have it strip the paint from his hood. Didn't help any that it was Mystic colored and cost a small fortune to fix.

Hose your car off, or check out autopia.org to find some products that can be used to remove road grime. If it's a winter thing...wash, clay bar, apply a coat of glaze, then two coats of sealant, then two or three coats of wax and you should be covered throughout the winter from any paint damage.

You know what, I use the high pressure wash alot and I spray that thing into every vent i can find, plus when I am near through, I spray underneath the car also. My car runs fine, no signs of leaking anywhere. Clean as a whistle

I wont take my car near a car wash even if it's touchless. I do all my cleaning at home with my pressure washer and high quality wash soap and other cleaning products.

I use the self service wash between handwashes and when Im lazy, it works quite well. There are many steps to avoid like anything that touches the car.

What I do is a full pre soak, then soap, (no rinse) then wax, then spot free.

just think... if a touchless car wash can clean all the dirt and grime off your car with out using any brushes then imagine how acidic the chemicals are. It will strip your wax fast and isnt safe for your paint. the touch auto washes are the worst because of the built up debree in the brushes that rub accross your paint giving it fine scratches and swurls. in all just take the time and hand wash your car.
