I have the TiAL bov vented to atmosphere and have never had a stall due to it. My guess is that some ECU's and MAF's are more finicky about the diverted air than others.

You mean you're actually running it VTA? Man, what is wrong with people? Why do they waste all that money just to make the car run like crap? I will never understand...

No, paying MORE money for a recirc kit won't remedy the situation and will just waste more money. Your best solution is to sell it to some riceboy, then get a proper DV that both holds the boost AND drives properly...you know, kinda like the STOCK ONE that you took off? Might as well remove the turbo and install a t-25 from a 2G DSM.

There is no actual BOV that runs well on a MAF-equipped Evo. Stick with aftermarket DVs (Forge RS or JDM MR or Stock IX) unless you just want to make sound and don't mind the drivability problems.

No, stock is not the best thing.
Actually, the HKS SSQV works very well VTA IF you dial it in correctly.
I thought exactly the same until I drove my friends EVO 8 with VTA HKS SSQV.

Anyone in the NW that knows Caesar, the silver Evo 8 from Project Alpha, knows how smooth his car runs. Hes running HKS VTA. I didn't believe him at first until I drove his car. You cannot tell or feel any surge or idle problems at all, and it sounds great. It took him a full day of "tuning" it so its not for the undisciplined.

It will work and it works great if you want to put in the time to do it.

Sorry. All of the negative attention VTA gets made me think of that commercial where the atmosphere destroys these two meteors.

I am running an HKS VTA on my EVO with no stalling or driveability issues. I have had the same HKS on three different mass air cars with over 25,000 trouble free miles.

Does it not also depend on what you use your car for? I don't auto-x, daily drive, or road course it. I only use it for one thing only and that's straight line racing. And under full throttle, my car runs perfect.. I don't have boost leaks, and my car does not stall. So in my case this bov works perfect...

Yeah the SSQV will work perfect if you know how to properly configure it.
For the people who couldn't get it to work, not everyone can be talented =D

People spend money on their car for things they enjoy. If they enjoy the sound a BOV makes and are willing to deal with any issues that pop up (if they even do) then let them, get over it - it's getting old.
