Atomosphere Venting BOV

Personaly i Think badly of Air Venting BOV, because of the Idle Problems. But I heard the HKS SSQ is not supposed to leak under vaccum and high boost conditions. So does anyone know a good BOV that don't mess up your idle? And does anyone have a Super Sequential Valve or whatever it is, if not what is the best thing to do with your Evo (my guess is probaly stock like most cars).

Does anyone have an SSQV? ???? Are you kidding? You're telling me you put in the term "SSQV" in the search box and found nothing? Come on, we tell people many times each day to stay away from the SSQV. The fact that it's a pull type doesn't change the fact that it runs like crap on the Evo.

There is no actual BOV that runs well on a MAF-equipped Evo. Stick with aftermarket DVs (Forge RS or JDM MR or Stock IX) unless you just want to make sound and don't mind the drivability problems.

No, stock is not the best thing.

the funniest thing in the world is, i saw this thread and i KNEW INSTANTLY that warrtalon was going to have something to say, the even more funniest thing is that no matter how many people write threads about BOV, warrtalon continues to say something about it, seriously man, don't you have anything better to do? although you are very creative each time you write something, hahahaha.

I have the APS (I think that's it) 75% recirc, 25% VTA BOV that has never had any drivability issues, before or after tuning, and it makes a decent swoosh sound (not loud but noticable). I don't see the problem with them as long as the car it doesn't affect performance.

Buschur Racing BOV is not a bad choice but 100% of the people complaints about that anoying noise unique on the Buschur BOV. It kind of sounds like a kid swinging in a rusty swing.

Performance wise, I have the Buschur 1st Gen and is crushed and holds 28psi no problems. I had venting BOV on my cars before and they are a nightmare. I prefer 1000 times a recirculating BOV on my car, but that is just me on my set up.

Honestly and after testing a bunch of BOV in cars, don't go just for the "cool" noise, give priority to the performance. A good example is the Turbo XS RFL Type H, it sounds loud but it makes your car stall in traffic at partial throtle.

my .2c

Carlos

It's not badin terms of holding boost, but it's bad for drivability, especially in part-throttle racing conditions like on a road course.

You're already running alky on your IX? I bet that's fast...

Ahhhhhhh! The Atmosphere! Ahhhhhhhhh!

Anyone remember that Discovery Channel Commercial?

Begin: Picture of Starfield, sorta like the Warp screensaver.

Cut to: 2 people in meteor costumes, dangling as the stars go by, and you can see the strings. Meteor 1: "Hello, Meteor!" (I think he's hispanic)
Meteor 2: "Hello, meteor." (boring, nerd voice)
Meteor 1: "Have you heard about the website, Discovery.com?"
Meteor 2: "Discovery.com is my guidebook for life. I used it to plan an herb garden, train my dog, and cure my dandruff."
Meteor 1: "I learned that most meteors burn up in Earth's atmosphere."

Suddenly, a huge Earth from out of Nowhere shows up.

Cut to: Everything on fire, including the 2 meteors.

Meteor 1: (on fire) aaaaaaa the atmosphere. aaaaaah
Meteor 2: ahhhhhhh, the atmosphere. ahhhhhhh
