I think you need to do it again, that last number is a little scary.

its really hard to find a cheap $30 compression tester that reads good. as long as the comp. numbers read consistant, then your good
mine reads 160, 155, 155, 155. even when i added oil, it didn't change.

Here are some numbers from an evo that I am troubleshooting for a friend... let me know what you think.

167, 170, 169, 0 psi

I havent added the oil yet to see if pressure goes up, but I just wanted to ge those numbers out there for input.

comp test

if the engine shows 0 psi will will not come back up and if it does it will be very low. he either burnt a compression ring/scored cyl wall, or bent some valves in that cyl

Planning to do this soon.
How long do you need to crank the engine over to get a accurate reading? 2-3 seconds?

What would be the correct path in determining which of those it could be, I would imagine taking off the valve cover and inspecting the valves, but any input would be helpful, thanks. BTW, after oil add it remained at 0psi, which is what I figured it would do but wanted to complete the test.

Seems that after 4 or 5 bumps from the cylinder hitting TDC it would stay the same.
