TXS definitely has some drone on the highway. Had it on my MR.

 

I love my AMS TBE w/ Test pipe.

Nice low growl during normal driving, not too loud at all.

But WOT, you can hear the beast come out...very loudly.

I like mine as well. Its a little loud with a TP, but it's a lot better than most I think. The look isn't for everyone though... but you can always change the tip.

A 3" TBE with no CAT will be loud... period. Especially at WOT.

If you want a quieter exhaust (relatively speaking) get a HFC, or if no CAT is a must, at least get a resonated TP or small resonated muffler for the CAT location.

For the CAT back section, get one with at least two resonators with full size resonator type muffler.

The multiple resonators (with different lengths) will also help with the drone.

 

I love how my WORKS exhaust sounds at all speeds.

 

What about Quicktimeperformance's electronic 3" downpipe? That's what I have, it gives me the best of both worlds--stock quiet exhaust and then loud track straight dump at the flip of a switch.

whatever you end up getting, make sure to get a resonated test pipe and put a resonator (bullet) into the mid-pipe. That should eliminate most drone. If that still doesn't do it, stick a UPS moving blanket or two into your trunk ...
