I went on a road trip from south florida to Orlando this weekend in my friends MR.
I know a lot of people havent taken thier Evos out for hours at a time not knowing weather it would be comfortable.
The only thing I really noticed is that the Evo's AC sucks, and that the middle seat in the back is very uncomfortable after about an hour or so. The only time anybody complained was either about heat, or the person sitting in the middle seat of the back.

I don't know if the SSL package on the IX GSRs are much more comfortable but the middle seat in the back is pretty damn uncomfortbale, although the rest of the seats are fine.
Aslong as you arent driving in 100+Farenhiet you should be fine with a full car of 5 people for a couple hours.

 

I noticed just today how lacking the AC was on mine in stop and go traffic. Sitting at a light w/ the AC on full blast and I was still sweating. One we were moving it works much better though. I drove my car from OC California to Oklahoma. It was a nice long drive. The Evo feels so solid at highway speeds.

 

I took my 2003 evo, from La puente, down to T.J., and the front seats feel uncomfortable after an hour, they're a bit too stiff after a while, and the AC does suck, my 92 prelude's AC is way better, but that's cause is r-12 though. But other than that is OK.

 

I think the 2006 seats are better then the 2003 ones.... I mean I was with some picky people and nobody seemed to be complaining about the main seats.

 

I have to do a drive from Cali to Canada.... not looking forward to it... but if anything it will build character lol

You are going to find out that most of the 5 seat cars have the middle seat kind of uncomfortable all across the line with other 5 seat cars.

The comfort of the seats is unchanged on any Evo 8, perhaps the only change is the Suspension on the MR being this the most friendly to comfort.

As per the A/C, again, all the Evo 8 are the same except some RS that did not have one at all.

I personally think the A/C on the Evo is not as strong as in other cars.

I have NO complaint on my EVO. I drove an 150 miles oneway to WI and I still could not get enough. I beg for twisty roads but non at all.
I did notice the AC is kinda weak but its cold enough for me.

 

im about a month away from driving mine from kc to long beach to get it shipped , im sure im in for a hell of a trip

the 2006 is an Evo 9 and the 2003 is an Evo 8 just to remind you.

WickedNevo, where do you live? I was talking about blasting hot Florida, that problem with the AC obviously wont apply to everyone.

 

Most if not all RS's came with AC in the USA.

 

Hey, thanks for remind me that the Evo 8 and the Evo 9 are made in separate years.... , did you said that you were a passenger on a MR?...

Only with the Urban Jungle package for the first sold units and later on standard due to high customer complaints and demand.

I've done a few 8+ hr drives in my 05 MR, and I can't complain about anything but the fuel economy. But I have the driver to blame for that...

 

how many people did you have in the car? lol...

do you expect the performance car to really have that good of A/C

 

I drove mine from Phoenix, Az to Chicago. I had no major complaints. My *** went numb, but i think it was because i drove for 16+ hours stright.
