All I got to say is "OUCH!!!!!"
I would give you $8,000 for it. Kelley blue book is $20,000 in good condition, Minus a new engine, minus labor taking the old one out, minus the labor of putting the new one in, plus aditional parts, fluids etc. Im a mechanic and that is what i would give you. Sounds rough but if you get more than that at a dealer take it and run!!!

That's really rough.
New short block at most is------ 4,000
If it needs a head,( I don't think it does) but a machine shop can rebuild it for------ 1500 maybe less.
Labor assembly R/R ---------24 hr's at $100 hr----2,400 ( might be lower since head is off ).
Gasket kit---------------300
Misc. parts 1000
That's $9,200 at most he's going to pay.
Send it to Buschur and get some sleep.

GET A BEATER....dont take the hit, its not worth it. put it in storage and start saving...so what if it takes you 7 months to save....at least you can say you drive your beater because your evo is down and not drive a beater because its all youve got
