i have that. Did you guys notice that only evos with premium sound package have that vent? I'm not sure but i believe there is a speaker behind that vent thats what one guy told me

I have a regular IX and I have that vent.

probably for the climate control thing but i bet you can mount an ipod or cellphone to it with some zip ties

On a side note: The people that are saying it's for the JDM climate control, how do you figure that? That piece is totally different on our cars from theirs do to the LHD/RHD thing. So, If they are building a whole new piece why put the vents in there for systems that aren't supported?

Isn't that where the "keys in ignition" or "no seatbelt" beep comes out of? I've got one on my IX MR and it sounds like that's where that comes out of.

I'm pretty sure that this is it. On my 03, I didnt have that and the "No Seat Belt" chime was different. I have it on my IX MR and the chime sounds more electronic (if that makes sense).
