I like the IX upper open grille w/ emblem and the VIII lower section......The two mated together would be the best look.

 

I have a GG IX, And I like the way it looks, I just don't really like the "Brake ducts". If those were shaved off it would look very nice, Perfect IMO actually. I don't mind the VIII, I just hate the damn triangle in the middle, Stock, I like the IX better.

 

i dont own an evo... BUT i think the 9 bump is cleaner.... the 8 looks meaner

I think the 9 rear bumper is bad ***, but the front bumper looks so damn fugly. This is why I'm getting a 9 rear bumper cover (w00t)

 

i like the 9 rear too. but the two holes on the 9 look weird to me.

 

Im no fan of the 8's massive mitsu integrated emblem.

 

the evo 8 front end is nasty from the side... a lip helps but the side profile is just ehhh!

 

The IX is no beauty queen, but in my opinion and most people I know the front end looks better than the VIII.

 

I don't own a evo, but am looking to get a IX in the near future. I borrowed this pic from someone in the 'Official Wicked White Picture Thread' and chopped it with the holes gone.

BTW, if the owner of this pic doesn't approve of me using it, please let me know and it will be removed.

Why dont you chop the VIII with the nose cut out and make the upper grille look like the IX....I would like to see how that looks, but have no photo shop skillzzz.

 

I'm not crazy about it because I dont like the Gialla style oval inlet thingies but I love the fact that the grill is no longer split. Overall it is better than the 8 and if it wasnt so much $$$ to convert I would do it. The original 7 is the best for the body lines IMO since it was designed at the same time as the rest of the car. So it only makes sense it would flow better. Just looks a little dated now. But the 9 is, I'll say, OK.
