The 8 has the ugliest front just because of the point it comes to. I would pick the IX first then the VII and leave the VIII for last.

 

I always wanted an EVO, when the IX finally arrived with the new frontend. I jump on it and bought an IX MR.

 

i had a chance to buy an 8 and a 9 and i chose the 8 because i hate the 9s front end and cheap looking dash... so i spent the extra money on SSL

 

when i had my 8 i thought the new IX front end looked like crap,but it grew on me as you can tell and now i think its much nicer then the 8 front.

 

the 8 front flows much much better with the body.....but the 9 is the new hot ish

Both ugly... VIII allows more air to a big FMIC core...

 

That pic of the new STI definitely puts thing in perspective...we are fortunate.

i think the sti (whole car) is hideous!!!! and u guys are crazy who ever says the evo 9 front bumper is ugly i thinks it's sexy even the 8 bumper is ok but 9 rules over!

 

I did the conversion after a hit and run. Although the air ducts are my least favorite part of the bumper, and the intercooler opening will be a liability in the future. The pros far outwieghed the cons. The IX's grille with floating emblem looks so much better then the triangle. I don't care for the gills or slats on the VII bumper. And I really like the big squarish openings on the bottom of the IX. The VIII bumper is also just so common around here, its nice having a fresh face different from 99% of the other Evos in this area.

 

This is 90% of the reason I would never convert over. The price is the other 10% but for me vanity comes second to performance and that stock FMIC isnt gonna be there forever. Although I doubt the IX bumper would have any noticeable negative effect on power compared to the VIII with the same aftermarket FMIC. But at the very least, the VIII shows that new IC off a lot better.

 

I seen all the Evos from I to IX, we have have them all in my homeland. IMO when it comes to front end:

IV>V>VI>XI>VII>III>II>I>VIII>X

Again this is only an opinion.

 

i like the ixs bumper a lot better, they removed that nasty *** grill
