No, the stock IX bov is not plastic. If it was, then he has an VIII, not a IX.

VTA is bad, but so is the HKS RS without a tune.

Just forget about it man, everythings cool.
The car isnt mine, and it wasnt my idea to install a VTA, but i sure will fix his mistake, and by the way its a SARD R2D2.

Exactly. And as warr said before, VTA is bad for the cars. My conclusion. Put the stock bov back in, stock air box and he will be fine.

If the BOV is plastic, then either someone is lying about it being a IX, or someone with an viii stole his IX BOV.

Then I'm sure you're not sure of anything, such as the fact that you're SURE that everything was installed properly, because no IX came with a plastic BOV. We don't know who is lying, but we know this is not possible from the factory.

I hope this isn't off topic, but is VTA bad for all turbo cars? Or just the Evo? I get annoyed at Subies pulling up to me and going "psssssh...psssssh", like I care. I'm just wondering if they made their cars slower with their silly BOVs.

Ok calm down everyone no need to clutter everyones 56k computers up. Just tell your friend to put the stock 1g bov back on and take that piece of crap intake off and just put a drop in filter in it.

ROFL! Are you serious. Anyone who looks at that BOV will agree. The name of it sounds like it is from another galaxy, and looks like it too. I have never seen any serious motor head use this BOV. Take a look at AMS, BR, Turbo Trix, none use that BOV, must be a reason, as it does not yield good performance.

I'd say the BOV is 99% of the problem, and the intake isn't helping with no usefull mods.
