Pitt Pass Important Info

As discussed in another post, I just want everyone to know that the Pitt Pass is cancelable. This may be valuable information for some of you that may want to receive a quick, $1000 back for future mods or whatever ... especially for some that have lower interest rates or are need of small, fast loan. I cancelled mine with NO HASSLE and received my check immediately after signing a cancellation document. My check amount was $1010.50 ($995 + tax - $50 cancellation fee). My payment is approx. $10 more per month than it would have been but I think it's worth it if one thinks of it as only $2.50 more per week. Just thought I'd make a dedicated post with this info since some may elect to do this on purpose because the Pitt Pass appears to be more about convenience than actually saving money. I verified the amount of $ spent per visit for the 4 + Q Mobil 1 oil/filter change, tire rotation, and 27 point inspection ... and it's a approx. $90 per "full service" visit ... which = $900 after 10 visits. Also, most of us that change our oil more often won't need tire rotations and inspections every visit anyway. Just my 2 cents ...

Thanks for the update. Hopefully it may not be too late for other members hoodwinked into a less than good deal.

But, if you only paid the 600+ dollars then it is worth it! I think that is why most dealers did not try to sell it.

OK ... gotch-ya ... that's defintely rare ... in your case, you are much better off keeping it because a $600 refund isn't worth it compared to what you will pay for service in the next 30K. Man you got a great deal!

Well, they made up their money with the Pitpass.

No, it's not mandatory.

Suggested Retail Price of the carbon fiber pitpass (9 services) is $668.

If MSRP is $668 than no wonder it's such a bunk deal at $995.00. Now I see why it doesn't save any dam $! Oh amd I know it's not mandetory ... but it is a great way to get a quick loan if you buy it, finance it into the deal ... and than cancel it = reason for my post. By the way JoJo .... what do you mean by the Carbon Fiber pitt pass? The only thing that's Carbon Fiber on this car is the wing?

When You bought Your Evo ,they should gave You a form "Limited maitenance program"(pitt pass) to sign ,where You can choose 2 options(if You decide to go with this service):

1.Stainless Steel Package:Every 5000 miles or 5 months- 7 visits

2.Carbon Fiber Package: Every 3750 miles or 4 monts- 9 visits

Pitt Pass Info...

The Pitt Pass is being markerd up at some dealers. It is very worth the purchased when purchased at Mitsu's Suggested retail and even at the marked up price in some cases. Ask your dealer to show you the Mitsubishi spec sheet on it. I gave a copy to my customer and it even has the $25 spiff listed we get for selling it with the car.

Even i f I didn't get the $25 I would highly reccommend buying it. This is a very technical car that alot people think they can just jump in drive all day every day. There are lots of reasons to have the inspections done and a qualified technician's opinion is the only way to go. Sure lots of us are motorheads and change our own oil, but how much do you know about the fluid pressure of viscous coupling on your AWD? or how about the manual clutch start switch??

The two packages are MSRP'd from Mitsubishi at:
5 months / 5,000 mile interval .... Stainless Steel : $549.00
4 months / 3,750 mile interval .... Carbon Fiber: $679.00

If you get sky'ed on the pit pass quote make them offer of sugested price. Most likely they will take it.

Good luck and enjoy your Evo.....
