I am a big fan of Chevron because my butt dyno says my car likes the gas there better. However, I have no qualms about using Shell AND my debit/credit card if I have to.

I think this is a case of computer glitches...I'm one of many of my friends who uses cards at stations all the time and never ran into this problem. I'd say not to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Ish happens, but it doesn't mean it applies to everyone.

Good luck getting the rest of your $ back.

shell cant be that bad, Ducati is sponsored by them and use shells full line of fluids. Ducati has one more Moto GP's than the whole competition combined.

Personally, in the 4 turbo cars that I've owned (FC RX7, A4 1.8T, S4, and Evo) all of them have performed best on 76. I'll use Chevron when in a pinch...but I'll go out of my way to get 76. When Shiv tuned my car he told me only to use 76 gas from that point on....good enough of an endorsement for me.

Yeah, your credit limit is too low. So call the credit card company and explain what happened and summarize by saying that the credit limit you now have with these holds is too low to be useful. If you have been a good customer they will raise your credit limit.

I have heard that Marathon is not the greatest quality. And what oil do you use in your car? There are sooo many Mobil's in Naperville it would be hard to avoid them.

If you think your getting the same gas used in Moto GP when you go to the neighborhood Shell, your highly mistaken. Its like saying you can go run Nextel Cup because you bought a new Ford Fusion, similar but totally different...

I work at Discover Card and have seen gas charges a gazillion times. Lots of people don't know that it holds a large amount on the card. The 300 dollar auth though, that is real strange. Maybe she fill up at a pump that large trucks fill up at. Most stations only hold up to 100. Also, don't count on the station to drop it within any specific time. It could take a max of 10 days, average about 4.

Johnny Boy, u need to tame down your beast so you'll use less GAS, heheheheh. But yeah SHELL is weird, BP is ok and 76 is awesome...I think after Rita and Katrina Shell's Gulf produced gas went downhill. But maybe that's just me...

you realize that shell, texaco, and chevron all in bed with each other now and distributing together. That's why Texaco Clean system3 gas comes with "Techron"

Well, its because they merged. Not all 3, but ChevronTexaco did.
like BPAmoco and ExxonMobil.

Too many mergers, we need more competition. Gas has totally changed my life in that it east all my disposable income. It used to be $20 a week now it is $20 a day. I personally hope gas goes to $100 a Gallon so the entire economy crashes and we are forced to do something.
