wow.....i got mine april2006 and there is barely 2000miles on it.

Its up to you, mobil1 in there should last till 3000miles
i'll be switching to dino oil for 1st oil change, got some blow by and hopefully that will break in the engine a bit more and lessen it

I got my IX MR 2 months ago and 4500 miles already. Its synthetic oil, dont need to change till 5000 at first then you can push to like 7000 miles. Look in your manual, it has a maintenence schedule at different mileage.

10w30, it's in your owners manual.

Use Mobil 1 all the time. Break in dino oil is getting to be one of those old wives tales or internet spread rumors of added break in performance with zero evidence to back up the claims. Many higher end cars come with Mobil 1 fill from the factory (or Castrol synthetic etc) and they dont recommend swapping it out for anything else.

Now if your going to argue against this then thats fine, just be sure to post your evidence for dino oil use / benfits needed to go against the instructions of Porsche, BMW and in this case Mitsubishi.

Usinganything other than mobil 1 synth will void your warranty, from what I hear.

-10w-30
-You are out-of-your-mind if you wait more then 5000 miles to change your oil. The oil can last 5000, but if you trust your filter to YOUR CRAZY!!!
-I use red line for all my fuilds and I have never had 1 issue w/ warranty or my 50000 mile FREE scheduled maintence!!!
