Blow Off Valves
So I like the way they sound plus its good for the turbo...but do not want to mess with the car's CPU. Can I still put a BOV and not stall or have a rough idle etc?

Yeah you can, but you have to tune for it. So if you're planning on just replacing your stock recirc valve with a HKS SSQV, you'll prolly run into some driveablity problems.
If you like the sound but don't want to deal with the problems, get yourself a Greddy Type-S recirculating valve. They're probably one of the loudest valves that don't vent to the atmosphere

Does he even have an evo? And why do you want to get a BOV? For the sound? Evos come with DV stock you know. If you REALLY want to hear it, then just unrecirculate it, and plug the hole in the maf pipe. Have fun driving. Orrr, get a cone filter like said above.
Oh yeah, SEARCH!

stock bov is good enough to 24-25psi, it was developed as same as the MR diverter valve to work with the evo and not have any problems, most other bov's are a hassle and need to be tuned for and so forth. Who cares how it sounds. Its about how well it works. Dont spend you money on how something sounds an not know how it works, get an intake for that price. HKS SMF works.

Not only am I not answering this here, but I'm not answering the email he sent me asking the same question.
I will say one thing - yes, a BOV _does_ help the turbo by preventing compressor surge that will ultimately damage it. However, that is why our cars come with one STOCK! This would be the 3rd person in the last week who I've dealt with who didn't even know that Evos already came with one in stock form...as if you can't see it right there in the engine bay.

I'll sell you an Agency Power BOV that you can set you to 50/50 (half vta/half dv) for $150 if you really want that sound. Its very similar to the stealth fx but you would need to buy the horn for $20 from a retailer. Personally I like running with full recirculation. The MAF is designed to work that way.

yeah just get the forge rs or the mr diverter valve... you will really never need anything else for holding boost.. unless you want the sound... but you should of got a honda for that...
