Wow, I feel stupid now. Never knew about this and I did just let it hang down the side of the car.

i didnt know that either i just left mine dangling down, i guess im lazy. broke about 4 of the spring clips for the door since i bought it, i just jimmy rig the latch so the door opens..haha but hey good to know didnt realize that, learn something new every day

 

The reverse process is confusing me. So you lift the cap off of the door then rescrew it back into the gas fill nozzle?

I just cut the cable off so they have to take it off

 

Wow... i've had my Evo for 6 years now. Have 100K miles on her. I have NEVER noticed this. I am the ONLY one who has pumped gas in the car through that time frame as well. I usually put it right next to where you fill the gas. My girlfriend just bought a brand new Jeep grand Cherokee and i was pumping the gas in it and said to her "IDK why the Evo does not have a place to put the gas cap".

This might be the funniest thread I've ever read, but what the hell were you doing using a cell phone at the pump. And why didn't that brain trust attendant wrestle it out of your hand especially with high octane fuel present. I thought I was dumb, but then I learned after 6 years where my gas cap goes. Thanks

 

i noticed the tab. but i though it was to hand the cap tether from. does this mean im only 50% dumb?

Wow always learning something new, i was starting to get pissed off because the gas people would just drop it onto the quater panel. I will be making a label saying GAS CAP GOES HERE lol
