Doesn't south coast in california have a post stating 32 for a brand new one with 5 miles on it pick your color. Well 500 bucks more to ship it and no drama.

Same situation as rgonyer. I bought my 05 MR before even driving it. When the evo9's came out i went back in and my salesman tossed me the keys to one of the brand new 9's (the first ones in houston) and said "have fun kev"

im 23.

edit: in all fairness i was in business attire, from have just gotten off work though.

If a tech got into a 'little accident' with it, what else could be wrong with it? You don't know, and that is the worst, not knowing. And FYI, my brother and I were thrown the keys to a brand-new EVO MR and told to go take a test drive. No salesman, no tech, nobody but the 2 of us in the car. It so happens I drove it lightly, but most don't on a test drive.

I wouldn't touch it unless they sold it to me for like $10K (which isn't going to happen). My point is this. 400 dealer miles on an MR could conceivably be equivalent to 1,000,000 miles put on by a responsible person. The techs and salesmen who drove that car most likely beat the #$%* out of it. There goes the correct break-in (which will compromise the life/reliability of the engine), the clutch is probably prematurely worn as is the TC, etc. Even if it is under warranty it just wouldn't be the same. Buying that Evo would be like marrying a woman who has slept with 50 other guys. Wouldn't you prefer a virgin?

If a "little accident" is in the cars past, I would also guess that some "spirited driving" was involved. I would bet that this little MR has been rode hard and put away wet!

400miles of beating on a new car isn't a good place to start if you are spending $32k+.

Pass on the deal and save yourself some headaches later. Warrantee means nothing if they deny every claim!!!

You can get a brand new, unmolested MR for about 500 bucks more. Why chance it? No doubt that puppy got the tar whaled out of it for most of those 400 miles. Also, do you want to always be worrying about some undiscovered fault caused by the accident manifesting later? Not worth less than 1k for the worry factor...

not worth the little savings you are getting. i got mine with under 3 miles i didnt even drive it before i signed for it. as stated earlier its all about peace of mind. from your responses so far it seems you really dont care what other people think and are really leaning towards the car. if you can live with it, it is your money.

Starting to look pretty unamimous here. Looks like I'm passing or waiting until they sweeten the deal.

i would definately pass. 400 miles on a car makes it a "used" car, and its been damaged no less. 400 miles + damage should be sold much cheaper. i bet they would offer much lower than that if someone came in with a car that had 400 miles on it trying to trade it in. they should sell it to you for the price they would give someone who was trading it in. What im saying is have someone call the dealer and see what they would give on an evo with 550 miles on it(traded in) and say theyre trading it for say a montero or something because they dont like the way the evo drives. then offer them something in that ballpark.

i doubt this happens very much outside of iowa. It's hard to call and get an appointment for an evo test drive out here. I've had dealers throw me the keys to cars before, but i've never seen that on an evo, and i'm not a kid.

Willing to risk buying a beat up $30k plus car on your "doubt"?

Don't forget the car has had "damage" as well. Did they take detailed pictures before, during, and after the work?

400 miles is a LOT. Just ordered my '06 MR from South Coast for $32,999 and there is a $500 rebate on it in addition if you own a Mitsu already.

Price has gotta be quite a bit cheaper than what they are asking for me to consider it.

IMHO

They said they took pics but I havn't seen them yet. But you are definitely right, the price will have to drop for me to consider it.
