So does anyone know....
My car was hit while parked by a uninsured driver and i need to find a door.
I am looking for the passenger front door in "white" but my question is... I am being told by several salvage yards that the Evo doors are the same as the OZ and LS lancers. I really have no way of checking.. The local dealer says that everything is the same. But who knows.... Can anyone verify this?

All the parts I've seen are the same # from lancer to Evo.. so you should be all set. Take him to court.
You didn't have your own comprehensive insurance? Hit and run is $500 deductable, but it would certainly pay for the new paint etc and a new door. Then you worry about getting money from the guy!

the only body parts from the regular lancer and the evo that are interchangable are the front door skins and the trunk. So, if you find a regular lancer door, it WILL work!! I'd suggest just letting your insurance worry about finding the door, but I don't know if the evo doors have any type or extra reinforcement or not. I'd check into this before ordering one.

I just went to a local yard and found a white door off a base model lancer... it looks the same.. I am going to install it in a few minutes. I will just have to changer over the door handle, wiring harness but other than that it looks as if the color even matches. I do know that the colors are different but by the eye it looks almost impossible to see the difference. But i will see after it is on the car.
I will let you guys know how it goes.

BTW: im suppose to get a check for $2400 after my deductable of $500 and the complete door only cost $300.. So if it doesnt match in color i will just have it painted.

Changing the skin on a door is more expensive than replacing the door as a whole so i wouldn't recommend that route. Also depending on the year of your Evo i would say not to buy a door from an OZ. Like one of the previous statements said the paint color is different. Even between 2003 and 2005 the paint is listed different ( one is Weightless White and the other Wicked White) so there is too many variables to make that economical. Best bet would to be is (and it is f*cked up to say) just go through your insurance , get a new door, and hope the guy pays off throughcourt. Either way man your in a world of hurt.

well i have a door already and no matter if i went thru the insurance they were only paying a certain amount and the body shop was getting a used door from a yard and repainting it. So by me getting a door for $300 complete and locally...and its already white. I know its not the exact white but i will just have it repainted to match and walk away with about $1400 in my pocket.
