If your car did not seem to respond to a mail-in flash, then I would do one of two things:

a.) If you have the time/$$: Invest in some logging software and hardware (i.e. tactrix cable and evologger) and see if your ECU is seeing knock activity. Check for boost leaks, etc. If you're logging knock activity, then you'll probably want to return your ECU to stock settings and get a custom tune. No knock and no mechanical issues probably means that your butt dyno calibration is off.

b.) If you don't have the time/$$: Return the flash and wait until you can schedule/afford a custom tune

There is the occasional Evo that will not respond well to any alterations to its ECU. Doesn't happen very often, but they are out there. These cars will most likely require a custom tune to extract any additional power over the factory tune.

I also ran the car at the track(3100ft SIR,) and ran mid 12's, I just need to take the car to Phoenix and run a cosistent low 12.

A lot of people dare to comment that "they don't feel difference" , I am asking you to please take the time an oportunity to take the car to the track and to the dyno to see improvements. It might be higher trap speed, or more WHP or more torque or better gas mileage but you always gain.

Once you are positive you haven't gain anything from a mail -in flash even like that it does not mean that is realted to the mail-in flash, you could still have a boost leak.

Do you have a before and after dyno chart that you can share with us? Or before and after drag strip times.

Except for a safer tune. You may see higher AFRs and a little more boost from Vishnu, but it doesnt run anywhere near the timing that Als flashes have.

The information I am about to release is from a friend of mine named Billy. He just recently sold his custom built 94 Mustang with 548whp/550lbtq, to make matters more credible Al Friedman met him when he came to Tucson to tune some cars back in April.

I told my friend to get a mail in flash from Dynoflash and this is what he wrote me(copy and pasted):

"Yes, I got it all done. I've been meaning to call you but, I've been insanely busy the last couple days.

It turned out AMAZING.... the car is just stupid fast. I seriously can't believe how fast it is. It launches like mad and the top end is insane. The top end was my biggest suprise. I launched it up to 150mph yesterday morning. It seemed like it got there as fast as my Mustang.....and it really didnt want to stop. The other cool part is that at 150 it was so stable and smooth that it felt like we were only doing 100. Oh, and that was with my friend the car and the AC on... haha It also holds the boost well....max is at 22-23 right now and it never drops below 20-21 if its matted.

Anyway, we need to hook up sometime. I would like to know what you think."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guys, this is a real testimony from a friend of mine with a Evo 9 in Tucson, he use to have a 550whp Mustang and he now feels like his Evo 9 is as fast as the Mustang he use to have. His mods are Buschur cone, Hallman MBC,Dynoflash mail-in, Greddy Evo II cat back, Helix downpipe.

Al, this is the guy that showed up to the tuning and you talked to him for about one hour about Mustangs.

Botton line, the mail -in flashes from Dynoflash are absolutely the best ang for the buck on the Evo 9.

No, unfortunately I don't but I know of a friend of mine from this forum that he did the dyno before and after, his name is fastrob(Rob), find him and check his signature.

He was also dyno on the same dyno as my Evo 9 and he also got tune the same day Al came to Tucson, I was present when his car was being dyno and tuned.

I for one will definitely get a custom dyno tune when my exhaust and MBC arrive. No disrespect to mail in flashers, but i just don't like the idea of doing that.

What octane of fuel was used and how many pounds of boost were used?

Not sure why leaner AFRs and more boost would be safer. Timing alone isn't dangerous - it's the combination of AFR, timing, boost, and octane. I've never known mail-in Dynoflashes were known to have excessive timing - mine sure didn't. If you go look at jrsimon27's datalogs, you will see that he hit 24* of timing on 91oct with his base Xede map, then on the race gas map, it went as high as 28*...

91oct. And we made 304whp/304lbtq once peaking 23psi. Remember that was with a catalytic on(Tucson at 3100ft and heat)

Dang. I wish the fudging Z could mod so easily.

If I had a IX I'd be all over the Dynoflash. That's sweet.
