lower ic piping blew off

howdy again yall. had a new fmic and piping installed last thursday, the only bad thing is it makes my car sound like it either has a super charger or like one of those toys you sqweeze and it makes a funny sound. it starts when i hit boost and holds. also had to put my hks bov back on so it is an interesting combo. only temp cause getting another turbo and supporting mods.

SO what's wrong? The noise is weird or your pipe blew off the new kit? Or did your old one blow off so you bought a new kit?

are you using normal hose clamps or t-bolts? i used to blow ic coupler on my sr20det all the time - t-bolts fixed that

Have you checked for boost leaks yet? Its very common to have boost leaks when changing the hoses.

i'm using t-bolts and it still blew, twice. car goes into the shop for the rest of the mods on friday. hopefully he can figure it out. i've had those hoses and pipes blow off so much i'm done dealing with them. short of welding them i have no idea what would stop them from coming off. has anyone else had them come off this much? i'm talking like once every other day.

oh ya and i know it leeks but it still holds boost. its because the piping coming from the turbo is about an inch and a half smaller than the rest of the piping

I put my Helix pipes on and I definitely noticed a sound change. The turbo went from "wooooo" to "weeeeeee". My couplers never blew off with the t-bolts though. Maybe I am just really putting some muscle behind my tightening.
