You are letting out the clutch too fast, your rear diff is creating that noise. I was doing that same thing when I got into the evo, just practice to shift quick, yet a bit more gentle. After a while you will get it.

your dumping the clutch, this is not a fwd or rwd car. your tc and diffs are getting abused.remember a clucth is cheaper then any type of rebuild

I've done that once in a while when shifting really fast. You're just letting the clutch out a little fast. I dont think you should worry about it too much unless your constantly doing it. Just learn to shift a little smoother

it's because your rear diff has rubber bushings that allow it to move under extreme load. i think it's energy suspension(if not, prothane)makes polyurethane replacements for them that should eliminate the thump.

what if you are trying to get a good 1/4 mile time, you should still feather the clutch? If you are racing I can't imagine that you would want to release the clutch slowly?? Am I wrong??
