What is a used exedy triple carbon clutch worth?
Hello all, I'm going to be parting out my evo in the next month and was curious what an Exedy triple carbon race clutch with about 7k on it might be worth. Please post your thoughts.
I have literally done NONE. The previous owner put the clutch in 2000 miles before he sold it to me (the car that is). He didn't track it, but did admit to the occasional street race. he struck me as a guy who just liked to spend money. anyway, the clutch grabs and works perfectly.
and i will post pics etc. when i get it out. I'm just wondering where to start for price.

well one would be insane not to rebuild the clutch after buying it due to the fact of how expensive it is to install a clutch. carbon clutches last what like 10-15k? my cusco lasted 12k but then again ... probably 100+ launches with it and such. that might be something to keep in mind -= P
also a buyer never knows if the original driver and you knew how to properly drive with this clutch which might have led to more wear then you think(not releasing clutch all the way, faulty install, bad launches, feathering the clutch to much etc etc)

Seriously, it depends on how expensive the replacement discs are. If I bought it I would buy 3 new discs before installing it because it's such a pain to do a clutch in the Evo. So I would take the new price ($4,000.00) then subtract the price of the replacement discs (guessing $500ea??), and divide the remainder in half. So for me, that would be about $1,200.00 depending on the actual price of the replacement discs.
Make sure you pull out the flywheel too, it's part of the kit.

3,930.00 new on buschurs website... it does have some miles on it and appears to be in good working order I wouldnt see why asking like 1,000 for it would be a problem. But like I said it should be in good working order.
