What is everybodys opinion on K&N Typhoon?

Just want some feedback on the K&N Typhoon Intake for the Evolution. Ive never had a problem with a K&N product on both previous cars gaining HP and a tad better gas mileage. Also would the Evo 8 Typhoon Intake fit on the Evo 9 or because of the different turbo I would need a different setup? Im new to Evolutions so be easy on me.

Thanks
Tyler

The Typhoon Intake is the worst Intake for the Evo ..
ur evo will become Way Slower Than Stock ...

ur only solution is to find another intake .. or just go with a drop in Filter

Thanks all, what would you recommend for a intake since the K&N is FTL?

a drop in filter if you are going untuned. if a flash is in your near future, i'd just go with a conefilter/adapter plate setup from a reputable company and use the stock pipe. several companies sell them, i have the apexi power version, but buschur racing, AMS, and turbotrix all have similar setups for around $75.

its only the intake pipe that has the problems. the filter is good.

Im sorry for the thread, I just wanted a updated thread on the subject. So a drop in K&N filter is my best bet. I will be trying hard not to mod the car that much as my previous cars were.

lol no problem man, there are just so many guys that dont search some things before they go out and pick up a mod then come on here and complain how bad their car ran. I found out first hand how bad that intake sucked when i bought my 03 used... the previous owner had it on there and man the car ran like crap, put the buschur intake on and the spool was alot better and fixed most of my issues I had when I bought the car.

Also if your going to buy a drop in filter... maybe check out the works filter along with the k&n.

K&N drop-in. Can't go wrong with it...especially on a near stock Evo.
BTW, if you decide on the K&N drop-in shoot me a pm, I just remembered I still have one that needs a new home
