The site I bought it from even used AZ as an example.
Too bad that I'm not your mother, or I'd smack you in the mouth for being a smartassed little puke.

Damn the officer was a little mis-informed then because she was the one who said there was no problem with it being a cover or even one intended to block photo radar, her problem was she couldnt read the farthest #'s to the sides

You know half a plate number is as useless to a cop as no plates at all. If the cop can't read the numbers because you put some crazy cover over the plate, then yes you absolutely deserve the ticket.

Thats part of my problem the plate has been on for about 6 months now and it is beggining to turn kinda yellow in the corners. the same areas where it is difficult to see the #'s. When the whole thing was still clear you could see it perfect from every angle except 45degrees about ten feet off the ground.. because I didnt think it was doing anything at all for the first couple months I had it because it was perfectly transparent

What arizona statute did the cop say you violated? It should be on your ticket, 28.xxxx?

That's what I thought. I found it before you posted up.

Here's what the statute states:

B. A person shall display all license plates as required by subsection A until their lawful use expires or is canceled or revoked. A person shall maintain each license plate so it is clearly legible. A person shall securely fasten each license plate to the vehicle as follows:

1. To prevent the plate from swinging.

2. At a height of at least twelve inches from the ground to the bottom of the plate.

3. In a position to be clearly visible.
http://www.azleg.state.az.us/Arizona...s.asp?Title=28

So, given that statute - covers are NOT illegal, so long as they allow the plate to be "clearly visible". If you had a clear plastic one, (one not designed to distort your plate and/or deter photo radar) you could probably fight that one and win.

My take on the license plate covers is, if you're not intending to break the law, why do you need one?

Good luck fighting it in court though, if you do decide to. And let us know how it turns out.

That is part of the killer I used to take the 101 to work so it made sense for the cameras but I got a new job and now take the 17 so the plate cover had become useless anyway..
Also thank you for doing to research on the one

so you admit you bought it with the intent of obscuring your plate... what other reason do you need to understand the ticket is valid and the fine you will get will be justified?

Not trying to be a p$ick, tickets suck, but you knew what you were doing when you put it on and you got nabbed for it. that is about like complaining after getting arrested for smacking a cop.

Dude I got the same plate on my car and cops have never bothered me I have even been pulled over with it on, and nothing you just caught that B***h at the wrong time of the month sorry to hear bro, good luck in court...........But just an FYI cops dont write tickets to lose money, if that cop felt she had no case she would not have wrote you a ticket, with that said just expect to pay the max and hope the judge gives you the min.
