New Muffler Setup

So i've had my turboXS exhaust for a while now and i do like it looks wise and sound wise....but it was just way too loud. With the addition of the turbo kit, the car was just so loud i couldn't take it. I also was getting pulled over constantly and paying the $56 dollar fine for a loud muffler, which gets old real quick. So i went to Mufflex in Trenton NJ and had them install a new magnaflow 24 inch muffler with a custom oval tip. I went for this tip cause i thought it looked a little less ricey. Now that it's installed i am indifferent whether or not i like it. Some times i like think it looks great cause it's much more low key and not ricey...and sometimes i think i should have just had him weld on a piece of 4 inch stainless. Let me know what you guys think. And i apoligize for the aweful picture, it was taken with my phone.

Also, just another side note, having nothing to do with the tip on it.....the muffler is awesome.......the car went from being the loudest car in my town to barely louder than stock. It's so much more pleasureable to drive now.

Let me know what you guys think.

I knew someone that had the same problem he was thinking about going with a 5in muffler to bring down the tone. It worked it's the fact he has this crazy 5in supra muffler makes it look cool.

I had the same catback before and I did'nt think it was much louder than others. But, it was loud like others.

Was the inlet to the new muffler 3" and how much larger was the new can?

the TurboXS wasn't bad at all.....until i added my turbokit...the decibel level completely changed.

The inlet and outlet of the new muffler is 3 inches. Also, the new muffler is 24 inches in length....it starts rught under the sway bar and ends about 2 inches before the rear bumper........

The new Muffler reminds me of about the quietest aftermarket exhaust i have ever heard. reminds me of when i put my greddy cat-back exhaust on my old GS-T when it was bone stock. Just a slight bit louder than stock.....

but keep in mind, i have a full 3 inch exhaust with a turbo kit....so if you put this muffler on a car with a cat and/or a stock turbo/02 combo, it would probably be just as quiet as stock.

so, I assume you have cams w/ turbo kit.

my noise level doubled after my 272's, I am seriously thinking about catback change, again!

On my Esplier I added a second resonator and that did'nt help! This maybe a solution or a new Fujitsubo.

What about the performance difference, notice anything?

Also, do you have pic of the muffler and link to the vendor?

I do have cams and a turbokit.

Performance wise, it's exactly the same....the muffler is a straight through design.....

check out www.mufflex-performance.com. If you call there ask for Denny. Tell him your situation and he'll fix ya right up.
