Spike 26psi on 91 octane

Anyone here spiking 25-26 psi on 91 octane?? All I have is a TBE, drop in, and flash. I dont have a MBC, but my boost keeps shooting up to 25-26psi especially in 2nd and 3rd gear. For some reason, it just started happening last week or so even though I've been tuned for like a month. I have'nt changed anything on the car since so I'm wondering if something went wrong and caused this?

He was tuned with that exhaust so that shouldnt be the issue. I still dont know why you haven't contacted Shiv. This worries me as I'm planning on going down there soon.

Isn't that the boost level where Shiv tunes anyways? I've seen some threads in which he has IX's spiking to 24psi on 91 octane...

yeah, I know. I dont have time to call him, as I work everyday from 9-8 and I typically work through my lunches. I tried to PM him on the forums when I have a minute, but it's hard to make a call at the office. lol. It's easier to sneak online and type.

I was only boosting 23psi when he tuned my car. It did'nt start spiking till last week. I highly doubt he tuned my car for 26psi.

Wow...doesn't leave much margin of safety spiking so high (25-26psi) on **** 91oct. even with a IX.
What's your AFR?

If you talking to me, I wasn't tuned by him. I spike 21psi and I'm on 93 octane. Here's a thread in which Shiv has a car running 24psi on 91 octane: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=206174

If you look around in some threads you'll that a lot of tuners have been running more boost on the IX due to the revised head design which is less prone to knock and detonation. 23-24psi is the norm with proper tuning. The tunes for 91 oct. run just about as much boost but less timing. If you're seeing 2-3psi of spike after being tuned I would definitely make it a priority to get a hold of Shiv and see whats up. You're motor might be skatin on thin ice so dont get too crazy until you figure everything out.

If it spikes than you need to port your wastegate. A manual boost controler wont help if your wastegate cant expell exhaust gasses quickly enough. STI guys all have to do the same thing after a free flowing TBE. SO did i

No, what you are explaining is boost creep. Totally different then a boost spike.

bump for an answer from vishnu as I'm going down there soon and don't want this kind of issue after I get tuned.
