There is tons of info on the site, the best thing for you to do is use the search function on this forum. If you're into tuning cars yourself, check out Ecuflash.

My IX is JDM *Dubai*, i got it continent-mail flashed with Works.. The hose is a ***** to fix but u wont need the mbc.. I still havent got my Defi gauge yet but i know for a fact the car is much more powerful and responsive based on both my feelings and running with other stock evo's and other cars (350z's, M3, SLK, SS.. busted)

for some reason everyone is into mailing your ecu out and getting a reflash sent in by mail. i dont know why, go to a good place who knows how to tune evos and have them tune your stock ecu, its much more efficient that some mail in ecu. Now you will have a ecu tuned exactly for your car pushed as far as it can go to get the most out of your car, also it will be a hell of alot better quality for not much more money!

It's because most people don't live near a custom tuner. For those who do, they can get custom flashed. This guy is in LA, so he should sign up for the upcoming Dynoflash trip to LA in early September so that he can get a 2hr custom tune.

Also, custom tunes are usually a lot more money. Dynoflash mail-in flashes are only $199, but any custom tune at another flash vendor will be $650 minimum. Be sure to have your facts straight on this stuff, ok? Also, Dynoflash will be in the DC area doing DC/VA/MD Evos in late August...

There's absolutely no reason to upgrade your ECU, so you should sign up for the custom Dynoflash tuning session in LA on the weekend of Sep 2/3. It will only cost $400 for a 2hr custom flash.

Unfortunately, your car right now is probably in bad shape with the HKS BOV and AEM intake (not sure why you bought those). You can get tuned for the intake, although it's not the greatest, but you should sell the HKS SSQV and put your awesome stock BOV back on. There was no reason to replace your stocker with a worse BOV unless you only care about sound instead of having a fast car. If that's the case, then keep it, but just know that it doesn't work well on the Evo and is worse than your stocker. You also need to complete your exhaust...the DP is smaller than other 3" exhausts while being more expensive - same with your cat-back. You need a cat replacement to finish the exhaust.

+1. Not all custom tunes are a proven commodity either. You could pay $600+ for a custom tune and leave 20+whp/tq on the table. Good Evo tuners don't grow on trees...
