you cant have THAT much tread left.. if you did no get your car re-aligned initially and you dont rotate your tires, your front left outside and right inside are probably going to be bald within the next 5k miles.

in most other cars it would be just fine to replace wheels in pairs. in the evo, especially the 05+ with the ACD you want to make sure you have the same data (from four identical tread and wear tires) being sent to the computer or it could spell disaster, especially in a turn.

+1......I'm going with this guy^. Also, you didn't buy a killer car like this only to skimp when it comes to routine care and replacements. As far as I know, you got plenty of use out of those tires. Break down, buy 4 new ones and see what you can get for the remaining 3.

This same, EXACT scenario happened to me. I ended up replacing all 4 at once.

Replace all 4 tires, then sell the other used 3 to some OZ or RA owner. They can use them without problem.

If the tire is not leaking, I say leave the nail there. I had a drywall screw in one of my Hankooks last year and a nail in the one of the Advans I just burned through this year. They just wear down with the tire. Never had a problem - even racing autocross - and I ran the tires literally bald.

If you do decide to replace, definitely replace all four. I got a flat on one of my winter tires early this year. I put the spare on and ran home for my summer tires. Without thinking, I put the two summer tires on that still had tread and ran to the dealership (for other stuff - had to get there before they closed). When I got off the freeway, my center diff was literally howling. It was a horrible sound. I took local roads back home, changed the transfer case and rear diff fluid (the original reason I went to the dealer) and put on the other two summer tires.

buy the tire repair kit for $5. Pull the nail out. Put some rubber cement in the hole, and stick the sticky rope in. The kit comes with everything you need.

Not sure I would go this route......this is a performance car with performance tires on it for a reason. True, you don't seem to drive your car hard but I would not feel comfortable with a fix like this. Just my thoughts.

Same thing happened to me and I replaced all four. Glad I did. My friend that is sales manager at American Tire Distributor advised me to do it. It's nice knowing I got three extra tires with some good tread sitting in the garage.
