what do you mean you cant get a leather gear knob for the 6 speed?

australian (and im guessing japanese) come standard with a leather gearknob with the 6 shift pattern written at the top

Mine gets effin hot too! I just shift using the plastic thing that you have to pull up to get into reverse until it cools down.

 

get one of these from the kitchen.

 

Or keep one of these in the car and slide it over the shifter.

 

Our cars do not have a transmission tunnel Your shifter is actually connected to a plastic tray with two cables attached to it.

 

just wait until winter time. the knob will turn you hand to ice. lol
