Guys, for those of you running a lightweight battery and an amp-driven audio system, is there cost-effective way to keep the voltage nominal and still have your 20+ pounds of weight savings?
Let's hear it!

assuming you have a decent amp, you already lost your 20 pounds of weight savings. if you truely cared about weight savings you would not add heavy stereo equipment. generally if you are running an amp that implies a sub and box, for another 30-100 pounds. if you want the sub/amp forget about the mini battery, because the weight savings wont be worth anything.
kevin, there is also a chance that he has i/c pipes that need to install the mini battery kit...
However, i agree with you as far as the weight savings is concerned... I would never put a high spec sound system bc simply its too heavy... !!! a decent mp3 unit and 4 speakers are plenty...

It will work fine when your car is running, the same as a regular battery as it gets all the "juice" it needs from the alternator. Adding capacitors, 1 farad or more will help any voltage problems when your car is running, and not running for that matter. The thing a small battery affects most is your listening time with your car off, probably 50% less time + or -. Peace.
