Yup, it blows having to spend all this money on mods for not a lot of gain. Thats why I got gears.

Diesels have different smog laws than gas engines. Only a X amount of diesels are allowed in the country a yr.

I put the Random Tech 3" CAT on my car with the Helix 3" downpipe. It may not flow as much as a test pipe but WAY outflows the stock setup. It also weighs half as much. You can make great horsepower gains and still keep the unburned hydrocarbons down...

P.S. I don't think it is "legal" to replace a perfectly good working CAT. However, if you "accidentally" ran up on a curb and it dented the stock CAT and damaged the ceramic honeycomb matrix, you would have to replace it. You are not forced to replace it with a factory part. You can source one from Pep Boys, AutoZone, or Random Tech so long as it still functions like the original one did. I have had the Random Tech on there for a couple of years and it is still working great, just paid my air-tax last week...

Yea man I just got pulled over the other day for "no front plate"......I was scared too they would look under my car and see my dc sports dp/cat delete and ticket me for that also....got lucky.

Last year I totalled my fully built GSR and 8 cops never noticed/said anything to me at the scene about my car not having a cat (3 thermal exhaust/test pipe) and my car was upside down too!!!! I got a wreckless driving ticket though! The only dislike I have about my 3 dp is at every stop I can smell gas when I stop. However I love the sound and whatever power gains I have gotten as a result! Just imigane how much poison those big old diesel trucks dump into the atmospere each day (ever see the black exhaust fumes bellowing out of their stacks)

The lesson here to be learned is that this country has too many laws on the books and it has made everyone a criminal by default. I just saw a news clip about cops giving tickets to people on rollerblades and bicycles for going over 15 mph. Land of the free?

We train young men to drop fire on people. But their commanders won't allow them to write "****" on their airplanes because it's obscene! -Kurtz, Apocalypse now
