in order for them to chexk your creddit, they havve to have to SSN. So, it's common. I say, you're fine...

If you are that concerned about this i would sign up for a program that monitors your SSN number monthly, https://www.identitysweep.com/UT/Default.aspx

AFAIK you can request the dealer to tear up the credit app you filled out, whether or not you are buying from them, if they haven't run your credit with it yet.

I would not be worried about it, though. If you find some unauthorized use of your personal information, it should not be difficult to trace back to the dealer, if in fact it was the dealer who mis-used it.

I would just ask them not to run it if they haven't already. If they "shotgun" it it could lower your credit score.

I wouldn't worry about them making you a cosigner with permission anything like that though. Just keep an eye on your credit report and layoff the crank.

So, they are less likely to screw you if you buy a car then not? Either way they have your info and can do what ever if they are ready to face the consequences. Relax.

You should break in there after hours and steal your info back. That would be the smart thing to do.

I'm sorry to have to break the news to you but you might want to change your identity. Go to your nearest Social Security office and apply for a new ss#. but first try to get your name changed on your Birth Certificate. You might want to contact the US Marshalls office and ask them to relocate you as well. Hope this helps.

This is normal, it is against the law for them to show you your report, they just look at it and then shred it once done. They have strict guidelines to follow qhwn doing this.
