Harness Bar + Tall Driver Possible?

hey guys, wondering if anyone on here was over 6 feet tall and was able to use a harness bar (sparco, gsc, etc)? i'm about 6'1" and have to have my seat back pretty far to be comfortable. i'd like to know if these prefabbed ones would work for me or would i have to go custom.

if anyone could measure the maxium the seat could be be moved back (like measure the distance from the front of the top of the seat rail from the front of the bottom of the seat rail) and/or provide the dimensions of your harness bar, i'd be greatful. thanks.

I am 6'2" and I use the Sparco bar. Its not uncomfortable to me at all. Its pretty much where I had the seat before the install of the bar. The only thing I dont like is the seat belt is lower so its not the most comfortable but its not bad to the point of it bugging the heck out of you when you driving.

If you drive with the seat tilted back a good amount you may not like it. If the seat is slid forward you can lean it back some. Mine is far from being 100% straight up but i'm not gangsta leanin in it either. Its comfortable to me. Each person has their own comfort zone so....

I am 6'2" also and it works just fine for me. With harness's and all. I used to "gangsta lean " a little...but I find my self sitting more upright now because of it.....and it puts you in that racing type mode. It works fine for taller people, and you can still lean back the seat just enough for those relaxing, gangsta-lean type days.

You should be just fine with it.

I have my seat like an 1"-2" away from the bar. I seriously think you will be fine.

What is the purpose of the harness bar? I mean I understand the point of it holding the rear h/y section of the harness....but it is no where near safe without a true roll bar.

The stock seatbelts are designed to allow your body to slide to the side if neccesary in a roll over accident....the harnesses will not allow that movement anymore and the roof could possibly crush in on you w/ no roll bar.

I'm 6'4 and 220 lbs right now. I'm running the GSC harness bar and it's perfect! You don't have anything to worry about if you got with GSC.

i'm not going to get into any arguments cause there is plenty of threads with that. all i am going to say is schroth belts are made to stretch so you can still move like the oem belts. that is why they are dot approved. and those are the ones i plan to use

harness bar

Does anyone know how the SPARCO and GSC bars compare on how much you can move back/lean back seat?
