Evo 9 baseline dynorun & high-flow filer run

I just got home from a baseline dynorun (stock) at SRM tuning. Beau and Paul where great and very helpful. I will have the graphs later on tonight after I scan then.

Stock max whp = 237
max lb/ft = 243
Works Drop in filter max whp= 242.2
max lb/ft torque= 248.6

This was on a dynopack dyno at SRM tuning. Per SRM most evo 9's made 220-245 whp on their dyno. thanks again guys!

SRM tuning = San Rafael Mitsubishi

Whoa, the dealership has a tuning department and its own dyno? Damn, sneaky way to void warranties, haha!

Just from a filter, that's nuts, man. Some people in other types of cars pay $500 just to get half of the gain you got.

yea I dont feel so bad spending 120 on an air filter anymore. They improvment in drivability was worth the money to me.

Hmm.. I'd like to know more about San Rafael Mitsubishi!

Can you get a reflash there, and if you do will mitsubishi honor your engine/drivetrain warranty still? How high up on the good 'ol mod ladder can you go with them before they void the factory warranty?

No way in hell will Mitsu honor your powertrain warranty just because you get it flashed there. But I haven't heard of them being flashing experts before. Do they really tune Evos?

You must remember also that it's not the dealership that denies the warranty claim - it's the district or regional rep, unless it's something simple. If it's anything big, the rep has to inspect the damaged part, inspect the car, and then make a determination. At that point, the dealer would just shrug their shoulders and point at the district rep saying, "Sorry, we'd warranty the engine if we could, but the big man says 'no.'"

From what they have told me they will still honor my warranty, the only problem comes up if for some reason they have to send my ecu to Mitsubishi. They just recently started tuning, SRM "imported" an awesome Evo/Subbie tuner from Austrailia. Paul Fischer comes in with years of experience and is a really cool guy. He has tuned there before but he just started full time a month ago.

if my ecu has to be sent in they advise to buy a stock one to send then there will be no problem

SC Mitsu also said the same, keep your stock parts and you can mod the **** out of your car, if a problem arises bring it in with stock parts and viola! I didnt believe them and he showed me a car that was worked on with some hefty mods and everything was covered under warranty.

ps. I got it in writing .

i bought my 03 8 at healey mitsubishi in goshen NY. They told me if they do all the mods they would honor any warranty problems no matter what even if i blew something at the track. And guess what?,they did. Had a trans. replaced under warr. with a excedy twin and a t/case also.Among a few other things not major but repaired or replaced under warranty with no questions asked.
