i dont see anyone "hating" on the ix. They are just pointing out the reasons they decided to keep there viii and not get a ix. A lot of evo owners in vegas are trading in their viis and geting ix's, i was almost one of them (i can think of 4 off the top of my head). Most of them drag race. YES $ for $ on a mildly moded ix will eat up a viii. But thats it. The second a viii decideds to do more that bolt-ons the game i over. The viii has more suport for those of us that want to hit low times in the 1/4. Cams/ecu just being two examples. For most evo owners that wont matter but for the few of us that want real power the ix doesnt make sence. I doubt that the ix will ever have the support for power mods the viii does(if it does the cost will be double) just due to the limited amount that will be out there. The viii has 3 years of production the the ix 1. I love the ix and still wonder if i should swap but i like being the underdog and there wont be a ix in town that will be able to touch me soon enough anyway.

Why would you have to ABUSE the car You can drive it hard without thrashing it. I think its called sprited driving. No need to be hateful to the car, its called caring for your things

Dude, You need to do some RESEARCH!! The BONE STOCK Turbo Regal/TTA Trans will EASILY handle LOW 12's!!!!

Go to: www.gnttype.org or www.turbobuick.com and see how INCREDIBLY EASY and CHEAP it is to get those cars into the Low 12's!!! I should know, until I came over to the EVO's here I had 6 of them over the years...ALL Low 12/High 11 BPU Cars!

In fact the ONLY reason I bought an EVO is that I got Tired of buying Race Gas & Changing Tires! :-)

i doubt anyone except u will buy it as of 2006
going fast is easy , u just boost like crazy
the eclipse turbo GST / GSX w/ 4G63 goes every fast too
but it just lags so bad and nothing much u can do about tht non linear explosive torque curve

turbo w/ auto is like Vtec with Auto , u either detune to suit the autobox or let the engine drives the box nuts (PS which can be a 12 sec car , just I dun want to have that except for drag)

i guess only 997 turbo tip can rival a MT box as far as I can think of ( excludes all sequtenital box which basically using MT box's gear)
