Motor build thread.
Hey guys! Forgive me if I am posting this in the wrong place. New to the Forum. I have had my black evo 9 MR for about a year now and have had non stop problems with it. Mostly from the business I bought it from. Horrible story. Long story short the motor is done and so is the trans. So I am having it built at Nip and Tuck Performance. Also doing a five speed swap. Will post pictures and progress soon! Lets see your motor build pics!

Love the build pics! Sorry I kinda forgot about this post. So I bought my car from a sketchy "stealership" in Salt Lake City. I was 18 and my brain wasn't working properly. The car was torn apart and getting a "motor build". I was upgrading from my old 2009 WRX so I just got too excited about buying an evo. I should have realized that this evo was a POS. But it is an Evo 9 MR SE, so it has the red stitched Recaros. I bought it for 22K. Which was a lot more than I wanted to spend. Unknown to me it had an evo 8 block and en evo 9 head with cosworth 270 cams. The car used to have a 62:62 turbo and 1000cc injectors. They stripped those parts and put used stock injectors and an evo 9 turbo on it. It was never running properly. The first problem I encountered was the MIVEC oil feed line was not properly fabricated. (the evo 8 block doesn't have a port for the oil line) It started spewing oil everywhere. They fixed that for free which was nice. They also put some ****ty or used coolant in the car so it overheated on me. The car had a horrible vibration while going straight and turning left. They told me it was a wheel bearing. It ended up being the center bearing in the trans. Them I started blowing a ****load of white smoke and lost compression. Then the owner of the Stealership started blasting me on facebook for an extended period of time. Which I think is highly unprofessional. He finally ended up giving me a grand for the trouble. The car is currently still being built. Ended up doing BC 272 with supporting mods, 1000cc injectors, walbro 255 fuel pump, forged internals (I think wisco pistons and eagle rods). Upgraded valve guides, five speed with carbon syncros, new transfer case, five speed swap kit from Jacks Transmissions. Mainly just want this ****ing thing not to break again so i'm getting a conservative dyno tune. Should have it back at the end of this month. Will post pics then.
