Back in late 2009 I had seen a silver EVO 8 at my workplace. It was stock, but I still ooed and awwed over it. Even took a picture of it with my phone.
About 5 months later, in February of 2010 I was cruising through the local GM dealerships used inventory. Low and behold I see a silver EVO, and it's the one I gawked at every day at work!
I immediately asked for a test drive, and couldn't believe a car could have that much traction both straight and side to side.
I had to have it. Traded my Toyota Tacoma straight up for it.
This was really the first vehicle I ever bought that I knew so little about.
Did some research and found this 05 VIII was a GSR w/ SSL package, and had 31K miles on the odometer. The only modifications that had been done were a welded on muffler, and K&N intake.
First pics:

First mods: Buschur TBE & License plate bracket

First tune at MAPerformance with TBE (catted), Intake, Hallman MBC, Walbro 255, FIC 850cc, GSC S1's

The pink Brembos had been re-cleared with engine enamel, but it started degrading after a year.

Got a couple more parts installed and got hooked up with Tobz in Denver, CO.
Ended up with 394/376 WCF and 335/320 Uncorrected on a decently humid day at a mile high of elevation on 91 Octane.

The car is amazing to drive. The turbo is so responsive and quick spooling, yet pulls hard to redline. I get 25-28 mpg highway, and am loving the Tobz tune. I have more plans for this car, but want to keep it like this for next seasons Auto-X.
Thanks for looking!

From: Still in NC!! Loving retired life!!
Nice choice of parts and good looking setup. I look forward to future updates and see where you go with it next. Should be a blast to drive both on and off the track.
