I forgot to mention it but last summer my wife and I made the long venture to Proving Grounds 2K15.1! It was one of the best experiences I have ever had. So many chill automotive enthusiasts... I felt right at home.
I did the triple track showdown which was my first Auto-X as well as Road Course.
The Road Course was a riot.... although my car definitely has too much power for the brakes, tires, and suspension.
The only frustrating part was the massive amounts of understeer my car had on the last few tight turns... it was awful!
Regardless, we are returning this year with a different car... and this time my wife gets to drive as well. Hope I see you all there!

At the end of summer I thought it would be a good time to familiarize my wife with launching something as finicky as an Evo. She got many good launches in, but it did finally come to an end. :-D The clutch did last a fair amount of time... hundreds of street pulls, about 15 street launches, 5 drag strip launches, 10 auto-X launches, and 3 time attack launches. I also downshift excessively

haha!

After contemplating how to fit the bulky 8374, I decided top mount was the only way! Seeing how my wastegate dumped out the hood before, I couldn't live with a plain ol rear exit exhaust.
I talked with Jon Vigil @ ViEngineered in Denver, CO. He was more than happy to help me build it the way I wanted. My experience there was among the best i've ever had in the automotive industry.

I ended up with a as-equal-length-as-possible 1.5" 321 stainless manifold and a 3" titanium exhaust pipe that exits through the hood. The intake and LICP are aluminum coated in wrinkle black powder coat.

This setup absolutely requires CBRD's slim radiator, and is still very close the the wastegate actuator (which has a modified bracket lol!)

I havent been able to drive this tractor yet, but I did manage to start it up. It is rediculous.

I feel like a newb saying this, but what did you do with the wastegate? lol

and aren't you worried about that o2 sensor getting roasted that close to the turbine?

Everyone has to start somewhere :-D

The turbo is internally gated, very similar to the stock turbo.

Negatory. It is no closer than the O2 on the stock turbo housing.

Ahh, looking back at the photos I see the wastegate mounted. I guess I'm just familiar with the external ones that actually have a separate pipe for the bypass. If the o2 sensors can withstand that kind of heat, then why are widebands recommended to be put farther downstream to avoid the heat?
