Heater core went bad....

Anybody had this happen to them??? I only have 40K on my car

My AC was recharged, but still blows hot air. is this the same problem?

no, the a/c most likely still has a major leak or it may have something to do with whatever allows the cold air in the vents( like or instance a valve or door or duct problem in the modebox)

It started with a weird smell, then a couple of days later i was driving, of course got on the gas pretty good and HOT coolant burn the crap out of my leg sure enough it was the core.. This sucks anybody done one yet??

Yep, it happened to me this friekin' winter. I currently have my heater core bypassed. The car probably had 65-70k on it at that time.

Just connect the hoses together the previously went to the heater core.

Have you pulled the core out yet Aniel? I'm curious as to whether this was a corrosion issue or a defect.

Yep, I just went to Advanced, purchased a nice heavy duty black plastic L of appropriate diameter. Looped the two hoses that used to attach to the firewall together and secured them with some small worm gear hose clamps.

No i havent, theres no corrosion its defect..
